Come’n Get It!!

We are so excited to be a part of the Capital City Chili Cook-Off this year!! Live music, celebrity judges and a fierce chili cooking competition makes this a favorite for folks of all ages. The Cook-Off is kicking off this weekend at Market Square, Saturday, February 25, from 11 AM to 3PM. This annual chili cooking competition is open to everyone who is willing and ready to cook a great chili on site for folks to sample and enjoy. We will be serving our Vegetarian Chili featured in The Happy Everything Cookbook and you won’t want to miss it!!

The goal of the Cook-Off is to support nonprofit organizations that serve our community. This year the event will benefit the Veterans Village of Tallahassee. The Veterans Village is a transitional housing program for homeless veterans. An estimated 800 veterans are homeless in North Florida and this housing program is helping keep a roof over many of their heads and providing educational and occupational opportunities along the way. Come support the Veterans Village this year and have a great time!  $10 at the gate lets you taste all the chili you like. {And we hope you’ll like ours best!!}

» Posted In Celebrations

Have you waited until the last minute to get your Valentine’s together?? Here’s a quick and easy way to whip out some goodie bags…

Pick up some lunch size bags. You can use the basic brown paper ones or decorative like we did {we found ours at Michaels}. Fill them with the candy of your choice, but not too full. Fold the top down and punch with two holes. Thread the holes with ribbon and tie in a bow. Lastly, attach one of our cute labels and voila you have a Valentine!! Click here to download the labels… you will need to use Avery Name Tag Labels #5395. Be sure to uncheck the “auto rotate and center” box on your printer dialog when you print the labels.

Lots of love!!

Heart on a String :: Printables Pt. 1

» Posted In Celebrations, Seasons

With less than 10 days until Valentine’s Day, our free printables are ready just in time!! You may have seen our Valentine Pinterest board ‘You’ve Got My Heart on a String’, where we have pinned everything you need to throw an inspired surprise for your Valentine. Now we’re gonna give you what you’ll need to create the precious paper pocket to string along your sweetie! You can download the pdf for the pocket here and the card insert here, AND later this week we will give you the printables and instructions to create your own ‘heart on a string’ scavenger hunt for sweet treats!!

These printables are super easy to use, simply follow the instructions and refer to the how-to images below.

To create the paper pockets, print both the pocket and card pdfs on 8.5×11 cardstock and cut out the images. To assemble the pocket, fold the two sides in that have grey tape guides. Place double stick tape on the tape guides and then fold the bottom point up and affix to double stick tape. Fill pocket with candy of your choice and the card insert. Finally, fold down the top point and use a small piece of double stick tape to affix it to the envelope. Address the envelope to your Valentine you’re all ready to ask ‘Be Mine”?

We heart these printables and we heart you too!! Since you’re so sweet, we have another paper pocket design for you to download for FREE! Click here for your second paper pocket pdf!! Love ya!
